English Language Courses and Wine Tasting with Southern Lakes English College
Central Otago is famous with wine experts for having some of the finest Pinot Noirs in the world. Other excellent grape varieties include Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Reisling, Roses and Method Champenoise.
English language course and Winery tour in New Zealand
Participants study English 15 hours per week Monday to Friday mornings and then have afternoons and weekends free to gain an appreciation of New Zealand wines generally and then a specific understanding of Central Otago wines. They will do this by wine tasting, visiting a variety of wineries in the Gibbston Valley wine region and also Bannockburn, Cromwell & Wanaka wineries. They will visit a wine cave, & also an excellent cheesery.
Visits Include:
- Wine Taste – Queenstown
Tasting of 8 New Zealand wines followed by 8 Central Otago wines - a great introduction - A 5-hour tour around Gibbston valley wineries.
Four wineries will be visited including the Gibbston Valley winery, Chard farm, Amisfield & Waitiri Creek. - All day tour of Bannockburn & Cromwell wineries.
- Advice on wines to buy and a seminar with a local wine expert.
Combo courses are available with playing golf, an art tour or adventure activities (bungy jumping, paragliding, or hang gliding, mountain biking) at extra charge.
Individual tours 2017:
NZ$ 300 per week English tuition + NZ$ 250 one-off registration fee
NZ$ 495 per week wine tour
Not included are your flight, accommodation and food, personal expenses.
