Bay Learning Academy (Mt Maunganui)
Bay Learning Academy is a new school established in 2012. We saw a need for a school which believed in small classes and student success and set about building an Academy that was firmly student focused. It is based in Arataki, Mt Maunganui, close to Bayfair Shopping Centre and the beach, and only a short bus ride from Downtown Tauranga.
We are offering courses we know about. Most of the staff, including the Principal, have lived overseas and have firsthand knowledge of the experiences you will face when living in another country. We have wonderful tutors and students, it's fun and friendly and focussed on learning! Our facilities include classes and lecture rooms, a student common room, internet computer facilities, wi-fi throughout and kitchen facilities. All rooms are well-lit with natural light.

Mount Maunganui is a vibrant location for students with many bars and restaurants. The beach is one of the best in the world , white sand leading down to a surf beach that is enjoyed all year round. Many water activites are available here from surfing to kayaking to kite surfing and of course just relaxing on the beach. There is also the Mount to climb and excellent shopping!
Tauranga has many cultural events, an Art gallery and racecourse, international golf courses, sailing, magnificent harbor, fishing, plenty of night life, clubs, multi-cultural restaurants and bars. Tauranga has a strong student population. We are 40 minutes from Rotorua which is the centre for cultural activities in the area as well as geo-thermal activities, mud-pools and geysers.

General English
You will have a placement test when you enrol to ensure we place you in the best class for your current level. You will be taught by professional teachers who each have many years experience.
Business English
The tutor for the above course is the Principal/Managing Director of Bay Learning Academy, Liz Signal, has a MA TESOL and a Bachelor of Business degree.
IELTS preparation
Are you wanting to take one of these exams? Do you need to brush up on your skills? We are running an IELTS class initially, with an very experienced IELTS tutor.
General English plus Activities & Experiences: 6 weeks package
NZ$ 4,850 for 18 hours weekly in classroom plus 3 activities per week
Accommodation in a homestay, meals included as well as the administration, fees, support and Government compliance and airport transfer IN/OUT
English + Golf
English classes are held in the morning. The students would be taught as a group with emphasis on golfing language. Golf packages can be put together for a minimum of 4 students. Play amongst the hot pools in Rotorua and in the beautiful countryside, this package includes tranquil and picturesque country settings and city courses.
English + Fishing
We are offering a wonderful package of English Lessons and Fishing. English classes can be arranged around the different fishing trips. The fishing include a mix of fishing from the wharf to all-day sea fishing trips.
English + Surfing and English + Diving and English + Horse riding
