Rangiora High School (New Zealand) Rugby
Rangiora High School has the intention to play all Metro Rugby Grades this coming weekend. Focus for this week is getting all the teams back on the field across the grades without spectators at games U14 (including Underweight grades) and above, younger grades will be one spectator per player.
There are requirements around hygiene and minimal use of Changing shed encouraged to keep workload down for volunteers. There will be adjustments to kick off times for all grades to help with the mass gathering requirements.
The focus of the Rangiora High School Rugby Club is to provide a strong and positive rugby culture at the school. It allows Rangiora High School to develop a sustainable management model that will ensure the long term future of 1st XV rugby at the school as well as enhance the growth of the sport at a time when playing numbers are on the decline.
Junior Boys’ and Girls’ Rugby teams compete in the CRFU Midweek Wednesday competition, while the First XV Boys' Rugby team competes in The UC Championship, the Crusaders Region premier rugby competition for secondary schools on Saturdays. The school’s 2nd XV competes in an Under 18 competition also on Saturdays. Each year an Under 15 boys’ team is selected to compete in a South Island tournament.
