Napier Girls' High School Rotorua New Zealand Trip August 2020

Mrs Larder and Ms Stickley, the assistant International Director, took some of the International students to Rotorua and Hobbiton in August. The girls were from Japan, Korea, Germany and Vietnam and were very excited to see Rotoura and the Hobbiton Movie set.

On the way to Rotorua the group stopped at Taupo, where New Zealand’s largest lake is situated. They soaked up the beautiful view of Lake Taupo and posed on the “#LoveTaupo” sign.

On arriving in Rotorua the girls were treated to a Duck Boat Tour. The truck became a boat and splashed down into the lakes and the girls were treated to some amazing New Zealand scenery.

The following day the students visited the Hobbiton movie set. The tour finished at the Green Dragon Inn where the girls were refreshed with non-alcoholic ginger beer. Some of the girls dressed up in movie costumes and became Hobbit tavern workers.

On the last day the girls visited Paradise Valley Springs and saw many native birds and animals in a beautiful bush setting. They also saw lions and tigers in their enclosure and rainbow trout swimming in the pristine rivers. The girls returned safely back to Napier tired but happy!
